I have created this go fund me page for my friend Sheryl; A Correctional Sergeant in The USA. Eight months ago she was injured while on duty and was reduced to temporary full disability through her institutions workers compensation. This compensation pays 66% of her base salary. This does not include her shift differential pay from working overnight. Effectively reducing her income by half.
Sheryl is the mother of three small children.
Aged 15, 9, and 6. Two girls, and a little boy.
Because of this stark cut in her income she has had to cut nearly every "extra" amenity from their daily lives to assure all the ends still meet. Through all of this she hasn't asked a soul for any assistance. She now lives without many of the things most of us find absolutely necessary.
She clings to her faith, that everything will work out for the better. However we all know sometimes a miracle needs a little help.
Due to her injury and sharp loss of income this year there will be no Christmas Tree for her children, and no presents to be placed under it for them.
I have set the goal as modestly as I can, part of the proceeds will go to decorating a Christmas Tree for them, while the rest will be spread across each of the children equally; a few wrapped gifts to be placed under the Tree.
Should there be any extra over the goal it will be retained by the family in an effort to salve the spartan conditions they're currently living under with such a limited income.
Words cannot express how thankful I, and they will be for helping to foster a Christmas Miracle.
After creating this page I have turned it over to her to post and monitor.
