Who are the OPERAtors?
We are students and alumni of the university Mozarteum Salzburg. We were united through our love of music and passion for performing on the stage. We prepare different projects in order to gain more stage experience, learn new and interesting repertoire and share our joy for music with the public.
Christmas project
We are happy to present a beautiful Christmas program in several churches of Salzburg December 2023. This program consists of "Gloria in D", RV 589 by Antonio Vivaldi, "Cantique de Jean Racine", op. 11 by Fauré/Ohara and the highlight of the evening will be the opera by Gian-Carlo Menotti "Amahl and the Night Visitors" which was first premiered live on Christmas Eve in 1951 by the NBC for the world to enjoy.
The libretto (also written by Menotti) tells us a story of a poor widow and her son Amahl and the Christmas miracle that happens to them that night. They meet three kings following a magic star and this moment transforms their life.
The opera is not as famous in Salzburg as its music and touching story deserves. We want to do this wonderful piece justice. Sadly as students we don't have the financial opportunity to execute everything the way we have in our vision. That is why we decided to raise the money for the project. We would use it for the costumes, props, and orchestra in order to bring this project to life on the highest level possible. We want to give the public of Salzburg the opportunity to enjoy this magical story as much as we do. Thank you for your help and interest in our project.
