My name is Becky McGraw.,I am setting up this GFM page for my dear friend of over 2 decades, Miss Rachel Lynn Vickers despite her prideful protests against it, because of the selfless , amazing , & truly inspiring woman she is, myself & so many others believe she NEEDS & beyond deserves help right now! Even thru the roughest times & years in Rachel’s life , that most people would not survive, Being diagnosed with a vey aggressive form of Early Onset, Advanced Stage Metastatic Breast Cancer @29 yrs old & given a grim prognosis , she has & STILL never let it conquer her indomitable ,& down right inspirational spirit. Anyone who is blessed to know her will attest to the fact she is a positive light to all those around her! I can tell you that Rachel is one of the most encouraging, compassionate kind, and Humble people I’ve Ever known ! She never hesitates to give , or come to the aid of others if asked or called upon to . So on her behalf... I’m calling all of you!! On Monday of this week , Rachel , her 18yr old Son , Zane & her Service Dog Kodi , suffered the immense tragedy & loss of their lifelong home, all their belongings & memories, to a horrific house fire , that started and quickly spread throughout their 1,700sqft home destroying it in less than 40 minutes , that she had only shortly left to go drop off some winter Clothes for her friends Son that her Son had outgrown. She had no idea that fateful day when she walked out her door to her home, that she would come back to an army fire trucks, flashing lights & black smoke barreling out of an inferno that required 84 first responders to gain control of & put out. By Gods Grace, no one was physically injured , but Rachel was thrust into waking nightmare of traumatic shock, along with the helplessness of having to watch everything she had struggled & worked so hard to build upon for Almost 20 years ,While battling Cancer,& raising a child on her own, A week before Christmas her entire life literally goes up in smoke & ashes!.Rachel is a decorated & accomplished graduate from FMCC, The NYS Forest Ranger School & SUNY Cobleskill majoring in NRC , Forestry & Fisheries Biology, Her greatest passions in her life are fishing , and teaching our youth the importance of respecting & keeping our fisheries sustainable for future generations. Rachel is also a very respected member of the angling community , & she has wrote numerous articles as published field writer for Angler/Coastal Angler Magazines. Throughout her many years she has taken several people into her home without question, who had no where else to go, & shared everything that she had with others without expectation of anything in return or judgement. ...well I was just ☝️ of those people. During one of the worst times in my life when I was in a life threatening situation, with a 30 second phone call, Rachel came to help immediately , she rescued me , and gave me a safe place to stay ,a shoulder to cry on, & the encouragement I so desperately needed, where I could begin to rebuild my own shattered life. If anyone deserves to have some of that Love & kindness paid forward to help her it is this Woman. I pray that this will reach all of YOUR ❤️‘S & someway a Christmas miracle will come to her. Rachel I love you, and this world is a better place with your beautiful soul in it. Keep your head up, Don’t loose ur Hope or Faith ! ..I have a feeling I’m not the only one who feels this way.
