In honor of our daughter, Indya — Bringing Christmas to Kids Fighting Cancer at CHLA
On November 14, 2023, our daughter, Indya, passed away while undergoing treatment on the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) floor at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). She spent two years (and two Christmases) inpatient, bravely fighting leukemia — in a place where indescribable fear and fierce hope lived side by side.
During the holidays, volunteers would knock on the door and bring her small gifts — a doll, a stuffed animal, a book.
Nothing extravagant, but her entire face would light up.
For a few minutes, she wasn’t getting chemo, or being poked, or fighting through side effects — she was simply a kid, opening a Christmas present.
Those tiny sparks of joy meant more than you can imagine.
There are children spending this holiday season in hospital rooms at CHLA, fighting just as hard as Indya did.
In her honor, we’re collecting donations to buy Christmas gifts for kids in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit, hoping to bring them moments of comfort, excitement, and childhood — even in the middle of treatment.
These kids are brave beyond words.
They’re fighting hard.
And they deserve moments of magic.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help us bring joy to children who desperately deserve it — and remind them that they are not alone.
Thank you for helping us keep Indya’s joy alive,
and for bringing warmth, wonder, and dignity
to children who are facing unimaginable challenges.
For Indya.
For every little fighter.
