In the past, I never took the time to organize a  birthday celebration because it always seemed to conflict with a much bigger and important one: Christmas!  But this year I am away from home, family and friends, and I've decided it would be nice to spend my birthday helping a group of people in need.

Specifically:  the kids at the Panti Asuhan (Orphanage) in Sumba Barat Daya, Indonesia! This home for over forty kids is run by my newest friend, Ms. Agnes Milla.

She needs whatever help she can get. Every penny of the funds I raise will be used to buy food, first aid kits, school materials, mattresses, 1 refrigerator, XL rice cooker,  1 cupboard, 1 blender, 4 fans, 6 study tables, 2 dozen seats, laundry bags, school shoes, hygiene products, and...well, our budget will have to be our guide. The orphanage also needs some improvement to better accommodate the kids, if our budget allows, some of the funds will go towards improving the multipurpose room.

All expense receipts and photos/videos will be posted online so all of you can see how the orphanage benefited from your donation.
