Christmas for kids whose parents are incarcerated

How this Started:
This ministry was started by Marty Sheppard, an 81 year old grandmother whose grandson was incarceration. She led him to Jesus through letters and bible studies that she put together for him. A few weeks later, he asked his Granny to send Bibles to 11 other prisoners that were doing the study with him. This was in 2019. Today, she personally hand writes 20 letters 5 days a week to over 50 prisons and detention centers throughout 8 states. She assists prisoners that are being released get into half way houses that are in areas that help them get back to their families. Granny herself lives in subsidized housing and has used all her stimulus money to buy a computer and printer in order to help the prisoners locate accommodations and referrals for the halfway houses that best suit their needs. She uses her own money for stamps, purchasing Bibles for the prisoners and sends them things they need.

Who we are Helping:
We have two families in South Carolina in which the grandparents are raising the kids because their parents are incarcerated.

The first family is in a town called Waterloo, SC. Dad is in prison, mom died in a car accident a couple of years ago. Dad is getting out in 3 months and his goal is to get his daughters back. The two girls aged 12 and 10 need clothing but one wants art supplies and the other would like a zoomie zuppy. Both are also in need of book bags as well. We would like to give the Grandparents gift cards to Walmart as they are now only receiving food stamps and Medicaid.

The second family is in Easley SC. Their mom is in the Anderson County Detention Center. The grandparents caring for them are not saved and the inmate has requested they get a large print Bible for Christmas. The kids are a 13 year old girl and 14 year old boy. They are both in need of clothes and Mom wants them to have Bibles as well.

Our goal is to raise money to buy not only what they need but also give them gifts to enjoy. Christmas is for everyone, even those whose parents have made bad choices in their lives. Both inmates are new believers and in our prison Bible study ministry. Every penny makes a difference and every prayer does too! Please consider helping to change lives by providing a donation to make a difference for these 4 kids and supporting Marty Sheppard willingness to say to God, yes Lord, I am willing.
