Christmas for Kherson
Thank you! We've raised nearly twice what we were aiming for. The extra payments for Christmas have already been sent out and we will be able to send additional money also in January.
If you would like to donate to us please visit our website https://khersonhelp.org/ . We are continuing to support these families and individuals until they are able to recieve full social support from the state.
We support elderly people, invalids and children in Kherson, Ukraine.
For Christmas we aim to send each person we regularly support a one-off extra €8 ( ~£7 or $8.5 ), enough to buy food for a Christmas meal (and the kids can get some chocolate).
When the Russian army occupied Kherson in March, vulnerable people in Kherson lost their incomes, jobs or social welfare payments including pensions and child support, access to medicines/medical care, and often had to repair homes which had been bombed. For most, this has been the worst year of their lives.
Our efforts to send money to vulnerable people there have grown into an NGO https://khersonhelp.org/ helping over 800 individuals since the start of the war, around 250 of whom receive money regularly, every 10 days.
Please help us bring them a bit of normality, and please share our project.
We are locals from Kherson, now living abroad and we continue supporting people in Kherson all year 'round.
If we manage to raise any extra funds they'll go to supporting our beneficiaries over the winter when there will be heightened costs due to cold and the loss of infrastructure in Kherson.
Here are some of those we're helping:
