Christmas Eve tractor rollover
Donation protected
My name is Andrea and I am raising funds on behalf of my friend, Darrell, who was involved in a tractor rollover accident on Christmas Eve. On his way to feed hay to his animals, the front tires of the tractor hit a pothole in a dirt road, sending the tractor toward the washed out edge of the road, causing it to tip onto one rear tire. As a result, Darrell was tossed forward over the front of the tractor and into a wooded valley. While trying to get to his feet, he soon found the tractor tumbling end-over-end toward him. After smashing over him once, he was picked up by and rolled with the tractor again before the tractor rolled one final time and burst into flames. Darrell was able to crawl away from the fire and up the embankment to the edge of the road, where passers-by found him and called for help.
Amazingly, Darrell did not suffer any broken bones in the accident other than a couple of minor rib fractures, but the soft tissue damage to his body has been immense and terribly painful, particularly in his lower back, inner knees, chest and left arm. It took three days, including Christmas Day, in the hospital to start getting his pain manageable. He is now slowly recovering at home, where he uses a walker and helping hands to move around.
Because Darrell is self employed in residential construction and unable to work at this time, finances are tight and stresses are high. With this fundraiser, I am seeking to collect funds to help Darrell with daily living expenses and to hopefully ease his mind somewhat. Any amount of donation in support of Darrell is greatly appreciated!
