Christmas Eve Fire Destroys Home of Family of Six

Donation protected
On Christmas Eve, around 7 p.m., Camden firefighter Darrell McWilliams and his family were traveling from their Fordyce home to Hot Springs to view the holiday lights display at Garvan Woodland Gardens, when he received a phone call that his home had caught fire.

Darrell, his wife Krenisha, and daughter Helen, along with Krenisha's sister Brandy and her children Branden and Skyler ultimately lost their home and all possessions in the fire, and were literally left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. They will be rebuilding their lives from scratch, needing everything from clothes to dishes to toys to furniture.

Darrell is a Driver-Operator with the Camden Fire Department, and has served the city and community for two-and-a-half years. He is also a member of IAFF Local 1373.
