One morning two years ago (20.11.23) I completed my group dog walk in the Peak District and headed home. After dropping some dogs off I decided to check in on my mum just off Hunters Bar in Sheffield. I discovered her there collapsed on the floor. I did CPR as advised via the 999 call but it was clear she had died. She had suffered a heart attack. I'm not sure I or anyone could have done anything to change things or save her that day... But others who suffer a heart attack out of hospital could be saved if there is a public accessible defibrillator close by.

The end of Shorts Lane, S17 3AH (where Forest Dogs Land is located) is a really busy spot for mountain bikers, horse riders, nature lovers and (dog) walkers from surrounding areas to and from Blacka Moor and the Peak District.

We propose to locate an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on or close to our main gates at Forest Dogs Land. We would be the 'guardian' of the new device, providing the necessary power supply and ensuring it is fit for purpose. We have been in touch with the Community Defibrillation Co-ordinator at Yorkshire Ambulance Service and have quotes of around £2.5k for the device (£1-1.5k), cabinet (£500-£1k) plus installation.

We think this would be an ideal place for a defribrillator and could one day help save someone's life.

Forest Dogs pledge the first £200 and kindly ask for your support in raising the rest of the funds required to achieve this.
