Christlynn Light Our Angel From God

Donation protected
On January 1st  2015, GOD blessed our family with this beautiful angel!❤ She was the 1st baby born at UMC in Lubbock , TX.  We knew that she was a strong baby girl when she was born we waited to her cry. She was having difficulties breathing and almost had to be intubated. As we prayed and stood beside her she finally started coming around and we finally heard her cry. We knew that she was special but we had no idea how much she would bring joy to all that  love her. She is my first grandbaby, and I never knew a love like that until I became her Nonnie.
Christlynn Emerson Light is the LIGHT of her parents world. She is so full of life and sass that it's hard to not notice when she's in the room. She will be 4 on January 1st. She loves learning new things, reading books, animals and doing activities with her family.
The year 2018 started with the unity of the LIGHT family when her mommy and daddy got married.  However,  the latter part of this year has  been a rough one for the Light Family. With Christlynn's parents both being involved in a car accident (wrecking both of their vehicles) in September and unexpectedly having to move out of their house at the end of September. Money has been tight and life has been stressful. As they have held onto their FAITH in the LORD that he would never forsake them.On September 20th we noticed a large bump in the enter of Christlynn's neck when she looked upwards. Her parents took her to a clinic and she was tested positive for strep, the clinic prescribed antibiotics and a steroid for her to take assuming her glands were swollen from strep. After taking all of her medications the lump was still there, so her parents made an appointment with her pediatrician Dr. McLaurin. Immediately McLaurin wanted her to have an ultrasound that same day and have her parents come back for the results that day. After praying the whole day it wasn't cancerous her parents were caked back in when the ultrasound results were in.
Christlynn has a thyroglossal duct cyst.
A thyroglossal duct cyst is a remnant of the thyroid gland, that enlarges, can get infected, and can cause Christlynns breathing and swallowing to become very difficult.
The following week Christlynn had an appointment with Dr. Scolaro who insisted we have the surgery ASAP. With the drastic size of her cyst he is worried of an infection. The removal of a cyst and duct is known as a Sistrunk procedure, and it involves a neck incision with dissection of the cyst, and the duct that runs up to a small bone in the upper neck called the hyoid bone. The hyoid bone is closely connected to the thyroglossal duct tract as it runs up to the deep substance of the tongue; therefore the mid-portion of the hyoid bone is removed with a small amount of tongue tissue. This is not a fun surgery. Especially for a 3 year old. She will either stay overnight in the hospital or will be allowed to go home with a drain in her neck. Christlynn is on Insurance but her parents have been informed that they will be responsible for somewhere between $2000-$6000 after insurance pays
their part.
With this being such a hard year financially and mentally any amount will help! Her parents want her to have a fast and easy recovery and also want her to be able to enjoy the holidays soon after.
She will be undergoing a 3 hour surgery on November 7th at Covenant Children's Hospital. If you're unable to make a donation, we just ask for prayers during and after the surgery.
