No one is ever ready to receive a cancer diagnosis, but especially not a single mother at the young age of 37.
Due to her younger sister already experiencing cancer, Christi was advised to be screened early.
With no signs or symptoms she
was devastated to find out that she indeed did have breast cancer that had
gone undetected.
After diagnosis, Christi had to immediately stop working to begin accommodating all doctor visits, biopsies, and prepare for accelerated surgery. After only knowing for less than a month, she is already going into her first procedure which is a double mastectomy, this Wednesday at Hendrick Hospital. After healing from surgery, we then begin to learn her following treatment plans in her cancer journey.
Christi raises her ten year old son alone, and to ease the burden of not only facing cancer as a single parent, but also as the sole provider for herself and her son, she needs as much support and relief we can give her.
Rarely do you meet a person that’s just as beautiful on the inside as the outside, but anyone that knows her, knows she will move mountains to help everyone she can, will sacrifice all she has for her son, and gives unconditional love to everyone she meets. She’s given so much to our community, from her business alone, helping hundreds of children, families, and many charities, not including her day to day living trying to brighten the world around her.
Now it’s our turn to give that love and support back to her.
