Christine's Fight Against Cancer

Our friend, Christine, is a mother of two beautiful children and teaches Spanish at a local community college. In October, Christine began to lose weight and was unable to keep food down. This continued for months as she searched for answers and doctors performed more and more tests.
Two weeks ago, Christine was finally diagnosed with linitis plastica, an aggressive and hard-to-treat form of stomach cancer. According to the initial surgeon, she has at least 8 difficult months of chemo, surgery, and more chemo. She is currently waiting for an appointment with an oncologist due to an insurance change. In the meantime, she is no longer able to work, has lost over 35 pounds, and has had to use the ER to treat symptoms while she waits for her appointment.
She has medical bills piling up that need to be paid and a long road ahead of her. She will need more money to fight this cancer and care for her family. She is divorced, has two kids to help support, and no family that live nearby. Without support, she may be forced out of her home since her sick leave is gone and she does not make her full salary on disability.
We, as a community are coming together to be her family and support.
