After one of the most valiant battles against cancer imaginable, and far too soon, Christine A. Williams, 45, of Powell, Ohio, left this earth on March 7, 2020. Christine brought joy to the world with her birth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 19, 1974, to Janet (Petrisko) and Henry Gaylor. She continued to bring that joy to those who knew and loved her as, having earned her BS in Nutrition at Penn State, she moved to Ohio, where she worked as a dietitian, and on to Arizona, where she continued in that field until accepting employment with Abbott Pharmaceuticals.
It was in Arizona that she met and married Shannon, in 2007, and happily gave birth to son Ayden in 2008. In 2012, Christine moved with her family to Ohio where she continued to work for Abbott until her death, even taking work with her as she underwent chemotherapy treatment. While fulfilling her professional obligations and taking care of her family, Christine completed a master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, acquiring knowledge that was beneficial professionally as well as to her family and to others who enjoyed the healthful fruits of her incredibly well-outfitted kitchen.
But this list of accomplishments only begins to describe Christine. She was a wise and loving mother to Ayden and fought her cancer more for his sake than for her own. She was fun to be with and had a wicked sense of humor. She loved going to Zumba and yoga, which she practiced until shortly before her hospitalization in January. She played the violin, surrounded herself with plants, danced with her dog, taught religious-education classes, and always remembered birthdays and special occasions of friends and family. She was an amazing and courageous fighter in her struggle with cancer and through her final days never complained.
Christine was preceded in death by her mother, Janet. In addition to husband Shannon and son Ayden, Christine is survived by her father, Henry Gaylor, brother, Eric Gaylor, sister, Lauren Newton (Scott), and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
