Christine Shaffer: Life Celebration
As many of you know my mother, Christine passed away suddenly this summer from pancreatic cancer. One day her back felt particularly sore and she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, 5 weeks later she passed away. This whole situation is completely unreal and many days I wake up thinking it was just a nightmare. Our family is devastated.
Christine touched the lives of people near and far. Her glowing presence and ability to find a silver lining will always be remembered. She was very clear that when she passed away she did not want a funeral, she wanted a celebration. She wanted people to tell stories about her and everyone to have a margarita in hand.
We plan to follow through with her plan and have organized a celebration of her life on Saturday November 3rd from 5-10pm at DiMillo's On the Water in Portland, ME. Join us for appetizers, desserts, and a cash bar. Christine lived a colorful life and would have wanted it celebrated as so, please don’t feel as if you have to wear black.
Although Christine's life was cut short, she spent every day doing what she could for others and trying her very best to make the world a better place. Because of this her legacy will live on forever in the lives she touched.
