Christine Royer’s road to recovery #mylifemiami

As most of you have heard, our mom Christine Royer (aka mylifemiami) was involved in a very serious ATV accident. On Sunday morning at 12:20AM she was on her way home after her usual fun filled weekend of mudding, as she was crossing US1 in Fl City she was hit by a car who was coming off of the stretch (bridge to the Florida Keys) who we believe was going around 60-70 MPH. She was thrown off of her bike and landed in the middle of the road. Her boyfriend who was just a few bikes in front of her, turned around and found her lifeless body lying on the road. 911 was called and she was immediately airlifted to Ryder trauma Center in Jackson Memorial Hospital where she then underwent surgery to repair all of her facial and head injuries. They have done two CT scans on her which thankfully showed no bleeding or swelling in her brain. She has two fractures, one located in her spine behind her neck and the other in her jaw. Her face and skull are full of stitches and staples. Her body is also full of road rash and bruising. She’s currently intubated and in an induced coma to allow her body to heal to the best of its ability and keep her comfortable. They have lowered the sedation meds twice to see how she’d react but she is still not aware of what’s going on and is completely out of it. The doctors are very positive she will get through this. At this point they are just closely monitoring her and allowing her to rest and heal and wake up when she’s ready to do so. We are all so grateful for all of the love and prayers she is receiving from our family and friends and we ask that everyone continues to pray for her. We’re very optimistic our mom will get through this and be back to normal soon. We have created this go fund me to simply pay for all of her normal expenses while she’s on this long road of recovery, along with all of the medical bills that will eventually pile up.
