a little back story on our fearless mother she is a proud cook-islander and even proud to be a grandmother and great-grand
mother , she loved singing , dancing & gardening and proud of our family home , you could always hear mum tell anyone about all her moko’s she is staunch catholic and would be at mass every Sunday at our local church , in 2015 our family noticed sudden changes in mums behaviour and by 2018 dementia fully took our mum’s ability to be her independent self , at the time my late father her loving husband made the hard decision to put her in a rest home as we did not have the resources to take care of her at home , there the nurses where able to stabilised our mum and give her the right medication she needed, come 2024 a dark time for our family our father who was battling his own illness past away , dad’s biggest wish was to bring mum home, he constantly thought about our mum to the very end even when he was sick he would try and make it to see her even it was for 5 minutes , the day we buried him we took dad too see her one last time, suddenly we had to take on the responsibilities of mum’s care, when our dad passed her subsidy for her care ran out and she no longer qualified when we finally found out about it she was in sigincant arrears and thats when we had to start the process of withdrawing from our kiwi saver and it was partially paid off , on top of that we where fighting to keep our family home from being sold but by the grace of god and our lawyer our brother and sisters won our court-case to keep our family home within the family we argued laughed and cried through that process but came out on top, when the time comes we will eventually bring mum back home where her children and all her mokos can lay with her one last time, like most home owners would know owning a home and maintaining it is not easy suddenly we where responsible to the home, mums cares and our own needs , and a couple missed payments mums went in arrears , we are two income household and have done everything we can to get her out of this debt working extra hours to taking on a second job, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you soo much your donation will go into mums care fees
god bless you all ❤️
