My name is Christina, and I've been recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and am scheduled for surgery on Feb 12th. I'll be unable to work for a minimum of 6 weeks and potentially for 3 to 6 months after that, depending on what type of cancer treatments I'll need. I am self-employed and unfortunately don't qualify for any temporary disability or medical benefits from the state of Florida. I have 2 school-aged kids and a husband.
