Christina's Diva In College Fund

Hi there!!

As most of you know, I reached some worldwide exposure when a video of me went viral for singing “Maybe This Time” from the show “Cabaret” in a Sam’s club. The video has 15.4 million views on Facebook, 1.2 million views on my YouTube channel, and countless other views from platforms sharing it as their own.  I was flown out to LA, to perform on the Steve Harvey show and was supposed to have a private audition with America’s Got Talent. Singing has always been my passion, ever since the day I realized I had something there, even if others didn’t see it yet! Singing and Music has gotten me through some of the most challenging times in my life. This viral acknowledgement for my talent was and still is such a wonderful experience and feeling. Since then, I have been trying to figure out how I can make singing my full time career.

When Covid-19 hit and we received our first stimulus. I purchased the Logic Pro X software which is basically a recording studio set up for your computer. A lot of pop artist utilize this program for their music today, so I thought why not give it a go.  I wrote my first ever song using apple loops in the summer of 2020. In the fall of 2020, I began to feel trapped in my surroundings as most of us did during the full shut down. I was unhappy with my job, I was stuck at home, thankfully working still, as well as taking care of my father full time. I was stuck, and that's a miserable feeling!  I realized I needed something to change!

I have always wanted to go to college, but never was successful at it. If I can’t utilize the knowledge in some way to help me get closer to my passion, it is very hard for me to stay engaged. Music school was out of the question as an adult because of my responsibilities, lack of financial assistance, and lack of confidence in the music world overall. The day after thanksgiving 2020,  I had a very random idea to search for music courses online. In doing so, I came across Berklee College of Music which is formally known as the Boston Conservatory of Music. I took immediate notice that they offer a few online bachelor degrees for music and I could accomplish this from my own home. To my surprise, the tuition   is less than half the cost of in person classes $65,000 vs. $200,000!  I processed for a while and applied, using the song I wrote for my audition. Within a month, I had researched, applied, and auditioned. In December of 2020, I was officially a Berklee student working towards my bachelors in Songwriting and producing, two key areas of the industry, if you want to make the most money doing what you love. Berklee is known in the music industry.  Berklee graduates  have received over 250 Grammy awards. Some of the honoree graduates are some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as some of their actual graduates. To my surprise, I made the Dean’s list my first semester, so hopefully I am on my way!!!

If you’re still reading this, I am sure you are thinking, Diva, get to the point HA! My federal student loans only cover my classes and I cannot take out private loans. Even if I could, I don't know if would as student loans are tough to pay off.  Going to Berklee has been amazing!  I am so DAMN PROUD of myself for getting in, but with that comes the expense of equipment to complete the work for my classes efficiently.  The laptop I own is in beautiful working condition and I love it, but when I bought it, producing music wasn’t anywhere in my radar, so it doesn't have enough RAM and so forth to do the work of running the program with ease.  I am looking to upgrade my Macbook Pro to the big Mac. Making the upgrade to a better version of a Mac will allow me to utilize Logic Pro without crashing my laptop. This has happened a lot since I have started school! I am also in need of a sound monitor set for producing my school work, so that is also on the list.  If all works out, I will also use the monitors for local gigs as communities and the world opens back up.

I got the idea to start a go fund me as a dollar campaign. I have roughly 15,000 followers within all of my social media platforms. Even if a third of my followers were able to donate a dollar, I would reach my goal. I have received many inquiries about a go fund me and never felt comfortable doing it, because there are so many important things in the world other than Christina receiving money for a new computer and speakers, but then I thought- what a great way to get my community involved in my glow up! I am campaigning for a dollar donation and if you’re feeling more generous, the choice is yours! I will be sharing this part of my journey as I always do. I will share the links to all the things I spoke about above as well as the computer I am looking to purchase. I have set the amount to be raised a little higher.  Whatever is not used towards the new computer and monitors will be will be put in college fund account. The money will ONLY be used for future school needs. I already have someone in mind to manage said funds. Please do not feel out of sorts if you cannot help as I completely understand and always feel your love and support as you continue to follow me on my journey to coming to a city near you lol!

All my love darlings!
