Christina's Cure

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kat. First I'll say thank you for taking a look and an interest in this GoFundMe account. I am setting up this account to try to lift some of the burden off of my sister who has just been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. This disease is bringing hardship on my sister and our family as we all fight our hardest to cure this disease. Any win is a win for everyone who will come after her because they may find new opportunities with her case.

I know cancer affects many families. This time it's mine. My older sister Christina was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 36 years young on Wednesday. Her port went in Friday 8/19 and her first chemo treatment is on Tuesday 9/23. It was a left field diagnosis with no warnings. Luckily her insurance is accepted at a great hospital and we will be traveling there at the end of the month for a second opinion (from Missouri to Texas). Cancer is a bullshit disease and an EXPENSIVE one to get (if you want to stay alive). Insurance or not, no one has a cancer savings account. It's hard to ask for anything and understable if you can't, but if you can, please help.

Lodgings in Houston are taken care of for this trip thanks to a generous family member! One less thing to worry about!

If you can donate it doesn't matter how much, everything helps. Charlie (my brother-in-law) missed a ton of work in the last couple weeks and my husband as we have to take off work and rotate to watch kids and keep from individually missing too much work and losing benefits during this beginning process, and we will likely miss more even with help from family.

I've listed things that these funds would go towards below if you should choose to donate.

I've made our goal pretty high as this will go on for at least a year of treatments that we have planned currently. I have to idea and I truly hope it is out of her body and in remission much sooner.

Thank you so much!
