House fire recovery fund

Hi Everyone!

I'm reaching out as a dear friend and colleague of Christina Henderson.

Earlier today, an electrical fire sparked under the stairs in Christina & Chris' home, which caused a housefire. As a result, Christina, her husband Chris and Christina's two daughters lost most of their belongings and will be without a place to live for at least six months. As a therapist, Christina also saw clients from her home office, which she also lost in the fire.

For those of you who know Christina & Chris, you already know they are two of the most generous and kindhearted people you'll ever meet. Christina is a pillar to the Abbotsford community: A powerful advocate, a sessional instructor at UFV, a business owner and an incredible therapist who has dedicated her life to supporting others. And Chris works with some of our most vulnerable youth populations with the Abbotsford School District.

Now it is time for our community to support their family. They will need to figure out a place to live, Christina will need an office space in order to continue seeing clients, and they will need to replace all their belongings as they have lost almost everything to the damage. They will also require time to process and plan for the next steps, potentially keeping them from returning to work full time. All this, including necessities like groceries and back-to-school supplies for Christina's daughter, requires the immediate financial generosity of friends, family and the community.

They need our help. If you can donate to help Chris, Christina, and her girls get back on their feet after this devastating fire, please don't hesitate. Anything you give will be received with grateful hearts.
