Christina Devlin Kicking Cancer's Butt

Donation protected
On July 3rd 2020, our family was delivered devastating news. In the midst of the pandemic, it was the last thing we wanted to hear and while it is more common than it should be, it still turned our family up on its axis.  But on July 3rd, we found out that our mother (in-law) was diagnosed with a rare form of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). While it is not necessarily a death sentence, the medical team at John Hopkins informed us that it was going to be a tough fight.

Before I explain the treatment plan, I need to share a few things. I met Christina back in 2017, when I first started dating her daughter, Nicole. One of the first things that was blatantly clear, Christina Devlin, is both the rock and the glue of the family. I have met very few people who are more caring, giving, and loving than Christina. She will literally give the shirt of her back and give it to any of her children. Without going into much detail, because if you know her, you already know what I am talking about. But one of the other things I noticed about Christina is that she is a natural born fighter. I noticed this first with her children, she will go down swinging to make sure all her children, and grand children are taken care of. So when I found out she was diagnosed with CML, part of me was not worried, because this woman is a fighter.  But it was going to be a fight.

Her treatment plan started with one month of intense, inpatient, chemo. This took a major toll on all of us. The issue was we were not allowed to visit her due to the pandemic restrictions. Once she was completed with chemo, she would get a small break, then have to go in for 60 days of daily bone marrow transplant. This was a major fight for her, but she fought it bravely, and courageously.

But her fight is not over, she still has a lot of treatment left. This is why I am writing this. While her insurance is covering a major part of her treatment, Cancer is still extremely devastating in many other ways, including financially. There are so many other costs associated with this fight, the costs are rising for her. I ask, each of you, if you are able to give something, anything, it will go a long way. I want to thank each of you in advance for your donation, but if you are unable to give right now, we do believe in the power of prayer and ask for your prayers for Christina and her entire family. Thank you all again and God Bless all of you.
