Christina Cantu's Maynard GSD needs surgery :(

Christina Cantu's GSD, Maynard, the 3yo 87lb goofy gentle giant, needs help. A week or so ago Maynard ate something that he has been unable to pass. The object became an obstruction and is now causing our beloved friend all kinds of issues: stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.
After several costly visits to the vet and two different sets of x-rays as well as tender care, prayer, and hoping for the best it has become clear that Maynard will have to undergo surgery to remove the obstruction before his condition gets worse .
We've all had a beloved pet and know that feeling of being willing to do anything to help them despite our own means. Christina is going to go forward with the surgery despite the cost even though it is more than she can afford right now. This is where friends and family and those of us that are just big fans of Maynard can help.
The near $5k total price tag is too much to ask any one person to help out with but if everyone can pitch in a little then we can whittle that cost down and help save Maynard. Christina doesn't want to ask her friends for help but that's why we have friends, right?
