Christie’s Sky-High Challenge for Childhood Cancer

Hi everyone,
We’re taking a big leap (literally!) and doing a sponsored skydive to raise money for childhood cancer charities, with the majority of funds going to The Gavin Glynn Foundation.
In April 2025, our daughter Christie was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare childhood eye cancer. Since then, our lives have changed completely, and we’ve had to travel regularly to Birmingham, UK for her treatment.
Throughout this journey, The Gavin Glynn Foundation has been an incredible support to our family. They have organised and paid for our flights for treatment, removing a huge financial and practical burden during an already very difficult time. We honestly can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for us.
To give something back, Christie’s dad and a close family friend Danny Fildara, will be taking on a 14,000ft sponsored skydive on the 15th of August 2026. It’s a challenge that feels both exciting and terrifying, but it’s nothing compared to the courage Christie has shown every single day.
We’d be so grateful for any support, big or small. Every donation will help childhood cancer charities continue to support families like ours, and most of the funds raised will go directly to The Gavin Glynn Foundation so they can keep helping children access vital treatment and care. The remainder of funds will be distributed evenly among the other charities who have helped along the way and also to her Retinoblastoma team in Birmingham who do incredible work for each and every child battling this illness.
Thank you so much for reading, for supporting us, and for helping make a difference for children and families facing childhood cancer.
With love and gratitude,
Marie, David, Eva, Oliver & Christie
