For those who have not met her, this is Christie Leeper Chavez, loving mother of four. In Nov 2024, Christie had a massive, debilitating brain stroke and hemorrhage.  

More than six weeks have passed and Christie remains in MWH “alive,” but almost totally incapacitated.  She is unable to walk, talk, eat, sit-up, move from side to side, or go to the bathroom, and she remains on a tracheotomy tube with high oxygen.  She is being treated for high blood pressure, seizures, and  lung infections.

However, Christie is fighting hard to live and recover in order to resume her role as loving mother and provider for these four beautiful children.  

In the meantime, Christie’s Mother Deborah & “Nanna” to the children now carries the responsibility for making medical decisions for Christie, paying all house finances, and for the care and financial needs of the children.  Currently, the children are receiving absolutely “NO” financial services or benefits to assist in their care.  

Christie, Nana, and the children have greatly appreciated the generosity of those donors who have contributed to-date and wish to thank them.  However, Christie and the children continue to need your financial help and support during this difficult period of time.
