Connor and I have always felt the call to adopt from the Lord. As soon as we started dating as teenagers, we discussed the call for adoption in our lives. At that point, we didn't know exactly what that looked like or what the timeline would be. All we knew was that the Lord placed adoption on our hearts, and that would be in our future one day.
My pregnancy with Ezra was complicated. This included medical issues, a high-risk pregnancy, a physically challenging pregnancy, premature labor/delivery, and an emergency C-section where I had to get fully sedated. Medically, it is not safe for me to carry and birth any more children. After mourning this for around 6 months, God stepped in. God placed adoption heavy onto our hearts. Adoption had always been a want, but at this point, God made us realize it was a Biblical Calling. God called us to adopt right now.
After looking into what the adoption process is like, we were stumped with the realization that the national average for infant domestic adoption is $40,000. This slowed us down and had us considering what to do next. After reaching out to elders in the church, listening to sermons on adoption, and heavy prayer, the Lord revealed that fundraising will be the best option. Asking for help is challenging, but the Lord showed us that money should not be a limiting factor when we are talking about giving a child a home. Money is just something to be worked out when the goal is to give a baby a Christian home to be raised in.
We humbly ask you to help us give a child a home. We want to love a child and give a child a home that otherwise will not have a home.
