Help Christie Dust CRUSH MS with HSCT
Christie was diagnosed in June 2020 with a debilitating condition, Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (ppms). This form of MS makes up only 10% of all effectived with MS. No cure and very limited treatment options. She will inevitably end up in a wheelchair and eventually bedridden.
Christie has been researching a procedure called HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplant). It's basically a factory reset for your immune system. You go through chemo while being given medication to increase stem cell production, your stem cells are harvested and filtered out of your bloodstream and given back to you. This procedure will take approximately 4 weeks and is only preformed in Puebla, Mexico or Moscow, Russia for those suffering for ppms. It has been done in many clinical trials in the U.S. for Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (rrms), but not ppms. Christie decided to take the plunge and do this procedure in July 2021 to STOP the progression of the disease. It has an 80% success rate and that is a chance shes willing to take to get her life back, as she has zero options available to her in the USA at this time, and time is one thing Christie does'nt have. The sooner this is done, the better chance someone has for recovery.
Christie & her husband Joe will travel to Puebla, Mexico at the end of June to Clinica Ruiz, were they have been doing HSCT for over 20 years with much success.
This all comes with a price tag that will not be covered by insurance. The treatment itself is $55,000, + travel, +MRl'S,
+aftercare meds, but in the long run, your life has no price tag.
Joe and Christie were married October 2008 , they moved to central Illinois (where he is originally from) in 2012, from northern Florida, where most of Christie’s family resides. They have a 6 year old boy, Fred. Joe and Fred are the two main reasons she wants to do this, so she can be the wife and mother they deserve.
