On November 8th of this year, US Army Veteran Christian Marquez and his wife, Angie, awoke to the sound of dogs barking.
They smelled smoke and determined that there was a fire. They had lived in their beautiful new home in wooded Magalia, just outside Paradise, CA since June. Christian had done much of the work himself, and had created a home that was perfect for the two of them and their three small dogs, Millie, Teddy, and Puppy.

Christian so enjoyed working on his new house that he decided to open his own handyman business, called ASAP. Christian enlisted from 2011 to 2014, and is still in the active reserve. During his time in the military, Christian received many awards, including a medal for the global war on terrorism. He was the youngest decorated serviceman in his division since the war in Vietnam.

Angie is his lovely wife, whose strength & determination is beyond admirable. She works as a hairdresser, and had recently found work in nearby Chico. Christian and Angie met in Dixon, California, which is where they both were raised.

Right now, life is surreal for them. They are still trying to make sense of the fire that began without warning and decimated their whole town and claimed their home. They don't know who of their neighbors survived.
They are temporarily staying with Angie's parents until they can figure out what their next step will be. They lost everything, including their wedding rings in the monstrous fire. They are displaced, and in a great deal of pain.
We would like to do something about their current circumstances, and hope that you will feel inspired to give what you can, so that they may be able to re-build their lives.
