Cancer will not stop this former Crusader turned Raven from soaring!!!

On behalf of our friend Christian Michael Noskey, I started this GoFundMe page to help him and his family take care of existing medical bills not covered by insurance. The out of state surgery, the major surgery in state, plus multiple rounds of chemotherapy have left medical bills that we want to help the family cover.
Christian is a former player of mine. He was a teammate on Seffner Christian Academy High School's first ever boys Final Four basketball team, Class of 2017. His energy, passion, enthusiasm and love for life are a few things I love about this kid. I still have a close relationship with him to this day. Oh, bye the way. Thats me with him in the profile picture after his latest surgery at Moffit Cancer Center. I was honored to spend a night with him there while he was recovering.
Christian is now a Junior and student athlete at Benedictine College, in Atchison, Kansas. He is a guard on the Ravens Basketball Team and is studying to become an Orthodontist. This past semester Christian was looking forward to helping his basketball team win their conference championship and gain a birth in the National Championship Tournament, a feat that has not happened for many years. Few gave them much of a chance, as their preseason rank was not that high.
Preseason conditioning got started and Christian was excited. He was in the best shape of his life. In peak condition, he would tell you. Shooting better and jumping higher than ever. That’s when it happened. The dreaded lump. Is that really what I feel? No, it can’t be, Christian thought. I am too young for that. What do I do? Do I wait and not tell anyone? He made the tough decision. He told someone. We are all glad he did.

A visit to the Trainer and then a visit to the Oncologist confirmed his worst suspicion. A lump was present with another one forming. It was decision time. Surgery or wait and monitor with the possibility of more lumps showing up? He knew surgery would cost him his Sophomore season, but more lumps could cost him more than that. He made the decision.
Surgery was scheduled. It ended his season, but started his journey. Balancing multiple doctor visits, surgery and recovery, would be tough. Not easy when you are far from home, on your own. He hung tough through it all, maintaining his class schedule and his grades. He watched his team start the season without him, while he recovered from surgery and waited for the results of the biopsies. When the results came in, he immediately knew his journey had just gotten tougher.
That journey is now in its 9th month. It started with that first surgery in Atchison, Kansas and continues back home in Tampa, Florida where he lives. He had to take a semester off and came home to three rounds of intense chemotherapy, followed by a second major abdominal surgery to remove a large tumor and lymph nodes, in an attempt to arrest the disease.

Throughout it all, Christian has been brave and inquisitive, staying on top of and studying about every aspect of what he has been dealing with. While he had one eye on his cancer, he had the other on his team back in Kansas. His team was bucking the odds and having a miracle season. They achieved a number one national ranking with one of the longest winning streaks in school history. What kid does not want to be part of a magical season? Watching his team make school history, win the Conference championship and go on to the national tournament without him was tough, but in the end he smiles. Why? Because he knows he made the right decision and he is happy for his teammates and school. His latest test results appear positive, the first positive medical news he has received in over 9 months. Let’s pray that hard-fought trend continues.
In the interim, let’s all do what we can to help Christian and his family get these medical bills knocked out, so they can focus on Christian getting back to his normal self, back to his team, and back to the school he loves so much…Where Greatness Begins. Fly Raven, Fly!!!!
