BRINGING HOPE BEHIND BARS
Currently, there are approximately 3,800 prisoners in the twelve prisons that Ireland has. According to a report done in February 2021, more than half of the detainees are serving sentences of more than three years, and 10% of them serve life sentences.
We as the church, think of them by mediating for them in prayer. However, at the same time, we would like to extend a helping hand to them. To this end, we have initiated a fundraising project with the goal of purchasing Christian resources, dictionaries and other necessary resources that can help and even impact the lives and hearts of these people closed behind bars.
This pandemic period has opened our eyes to some extent to better understand what deprivation of freedom and its benefit means for our lives.
We are grateful to God for opening this opportunity for us. Most prisons have accepted this project, which, with God’s help and the people from the church, we believe will have a significant impact in the lives of prisoners and perhaps even their families.
History has proven that in moments of crisis the Church understood its calling from God. Moreover, similar projects led by the Church have seen a decrease in prisoners and sentences. We therefore believe that God can work in such a way even on the island of Ireland.
We also wholeheartedly believe the words of Jesus Christ, who commissions the believers to take care of this category of people and promises to reward those who do so.

La ora actuala, in cele 12 inchisori de pe teritoriul Irlandei se afla aproximativ 3800 de detinuti. Mai mult de jumatate din numarul detinutilor ispasesc pedespse de peste 3 ani, iar un procent de aproape 10% sentinte pe viata, potrivit raportului din Februarie 2021*
Ca si biserica ne gandim la ei mijlocind in rugaciune, dar in acelasi timp dorind sa le intindem si o mana de ajutor. In acest scop am initiat un proiect de strangere de fonduri pentru achizitionarea de materiale crestine, dictionare si alte resurse necesare care pot ajuta si chiar impacta viata acestor persoane inchise dupa gratii.
Perioada recenta ne-a ajutat pe fiecare intr-o oarecare masura sa intelegem mai bine ce inseamna privarea de libertate si de beneficiile ei.
Suntem recunoscatori lui Dumnezeu pentru ca ne-a deschis aceasta oportunitate. Majoritatea inchisorilor au acceptat acest proiect, care, cu ajutorul lui Dumnezeu, al bisericii, si al fiecarei persoane care se va implica, credem ca va avea un impact semnificativ in vietile acestor persoane si chiar a familiilor acestora.
Este dovedit de-a lungul istoriei, ca in momentele in care Biserica a inteles si s-a dedicat chemarii lui Dumnezeu, numarul celor inchisi si chiar al inchisorilor s-a redus, lucru pentru care ne rugam, si credem ca Dumnezeu il poate face si pe insula Irlandei.
Credem de asemenea cuvintele Domnului Isus, care se angajeaza ca va rasplati pe cei ce se ingrijesc si de aceasta categorie de oameni.
