Hi, my name is Catherine Kerr. My husband and I are raising funds for our 29 year old son and his girlfriend Leslie. Christian is attending college to become a teacher and working full time. They live on their own and hope to marry one day, but have been together close to 7 years.

We received the shock of our life this week after Christian had noticed pain and swelling in his side and saw his doctor. After blood work it was revealed his white blood cells were extremely high at 212. He was admitted to the hospital and they They immediately started him on oral chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow biopsy/aspiration. The next day a team from oncology met with us and said he has leukemia. It was quite a shock. We are waiting for the final word as to the severity of his diagnosis. We were told that the best case is he has CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). In this case he will have to take chemotherapy for years and live with a chronic illness for the rest of his life. He and Leslie are very worried and finances are of concern. We are asking for any and all support during this challenging time. We appreciate your support.
