Christelle Fund

Christelle is 5 years old. Her given name is Love-Christelle, She lives in Haiti. Last year in a terrible accident she was scalded by boiling water. Christelle needs medical attention that is not available in Haiti. The Shriners have agreed to take her case at no charge. They have a Children's Hospital in Boston that specializes in burn care. Christelle is scheduled for skin graft surgery in Boston beginning in April..

As with most families in Haiti, Christelle's family has very little money. Help is needed for plane tickets for her and her caregiver. Her Aunt will accompany her to Boston. Once in the U.S. they will have living expenses.

Rosa Mystica Secular Franciscan Fraternity is sponsoring this fund raising effort. Christelle's Uncle is connected to our fraternity. All funds collected will go to a unique bank account set up exclusively for Christelle's needs. It is impossible to know the full and final costs for this effort. We do not know how long the treatment will take and how long they need to be in the U.S. Skin grafting is done in stages with healing time in between. We are setting a target of $10,000. Occasional updates will be posted.  Once Christelle is home again, any remaining funds will be donated to the hospital in gratitude for the care given to Christelle.
