Christina Shade's Car Accident Support Fund
As many of you know, or are now learning, I was in a very bad car accident a few weeks ago. Aubry and I were driving back from Deltona on SR 46 where we were involved in a head on collision with someone who crossed into my lane. Aubry and I were air lifted into two separate helicopters and taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Aubry and Orlando Health for me. Aubry suffered a broken leg where they put a titanium rod in her leg while she’s healing and I am currently suffering two broken legs (in several areas on both legs) a broken arm, fractured hip and fractured spine. Aubry is doing well; she’s back to school using a wheelchair and using a walker at home. After the rehabilitation hospital, I was transferred to another facility to continue physical therapy and healing .
The impact was unlike anything I've ever experienced and has affected me physically, emotionally and mentally more then I anticipated it would. In fact, all the physical and emotional pain of the accident began to sink in the next morning, and I'm still not able to do basic things (like dress myself or bathe) without support. And the emotional trauma of the accident has continued to affect me in unpredictable ways, with lots of flashbacks, anxiety, exhaustion and hypervigilance.
Needless to say, the accident has also impacted my ability to work. I am so thankful to have so many people reach out with genuine concern, willingness to help and things that y’all have sent Aubry and me. Please continue to pray for a less painful and speedy recovery.
