Chrissy's Mobility Scooter and Modifications

Chrissy is an amazing young lady.  I have known her for 5 years now and there is nothing that she cannot do.  Despite being a quadruple amputee Chrissy drives a van, rides a bike, sews, skiis and does competitive carriage driving.  Chrissy loves being in horse shows where she can succeed and not be labeled with a disability.   In order for her to get around the horse show grounds she cannot ride her bike, therefore needs a mobility scooter to access the different areas.  This scooter provides Chrissy with a means to negotiate grassy and hilly terrain that is more than a kilometer away.  The scooter will give Chrissy access to all areas of the show grounds.  Chrissy says that being around horses allows her to escape from her real world of limitations and insensitive people who stare. It is in the world of horses that Chrissy excels.  

Chrissy is so deserving of this scooter which will give her a measure of mobile independence at the show grounds and in other large outside venues.  Chrissy never complains or  asks for anything.  She has been a real trooper, dealing since she was 5 years old with these traumatic injuries to her arms and legs.  I am proud to call her my friend.
