Chrissy got her miracle, let’s help her recover!

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am creating this fundraiser for my cousin Christine Hendri. Chrissy is a wife to Joe for 18 years, a mom of 13 year old twin girls Madison & Morgan, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a cousin and friend. Chrissy was diagnosed in 2000 with Poly Cystic Kidney Disease. She learned that this was passed down from one of her parents, so they both got tested. Her dad John tested positive for this disease. He eventually had to go on dialysis and was fortunate to receive a kidney which he had for 11 years. Sadly he passed away 5 years ago. Chrissy knew that she would soon go down this same road as her kidney function was declining. She also had her twins tested since it’s passed down from parents, both of her babies tested positive as well. Chrissy was on a few transplant lists for a couple of years and she started losing hope, especially after she got a few calls of possible matches that ended up falling through. Well, the day came and our prayers were answered…CHRISSY GOT HER KIDNEY!!! Not only was she going to one of the best hospitals in America but also the furthest away that she was on the transplant list for, The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota! She got her call January 25th at night saying get here ASAP! Chrissy and Joe had to book a flight, pack, figure out childcare and get there. They arrived the next morning and by 2 she was in surgery! This is amazing news! We are so grateful to this donor who chose to save lives after their passing and our prayers go out their family for the loss of their loved one. You will forever be in our hearts.

Now that some of the rough part is over, the next step is to try to plan ahead as best they can. Joe is staying with Chrissy as long as he can while using his sick time but he will eventually have to go back to work. Chrissy’s mom, Carol, will hopefully be able to go fill in for Joe when he has to leave there to go back to work, so this will mean even more airfare! While both Chrissy and Joe are in

Minnesota, they are relying on family to watch their girls, pets, home, finances etc.

Chrissy will be in the hospital for a few weeks then has to stay in a hotel close to the hospital for all of her check ups for another few weeks.

In the meantime Joe is staying at the hotel and will be buying food and necessities to help them be comfortable with their stay. They obviously didn’t bring a car so they have to rely on public transportation to get around. They will need groceries delivered and plenty of other expenses that will soon stack up.
