Chrissie’s Kidney Transplant Recovery Fund

Hi, my name is Julia and I’m raising funds for my beautiful friend Chrissie Huget.

Over two years ago Chrissie posted on social media that day marked her 20 year anniversary of living with Lupus and her kidneys were failing. The years the came after writing that post were some of the most challenging times Chrissie has ever gone through.

From being on dialysis with all the surgeries that go along with that, and having emergency surgery because of a hematoma in her forearm that collapsed her radial artery and blocked the blood flow to her thumb, almost causing her to lose her thumb.

Amongst all of the medical emergencies, doctor visits, prescriptions etc, sadly Chrissie had to say goodbye to her best healing buddy Penny. Needless to say, it’s been tough.

However, there was one day I met Chrissie and Mike for coffee on a Sunday morning and she told me there was a donor! Chrissie is blessed in the best way with this Kidney and the life it’s going to give her. I want to ensure she has the best recovery possible with no financial stress so I am reaching out to our community for generous donations to allow rest, recovery and rebuilding of a beautiful life.

Today is Chrissie’s birthday and she is on her way to Vancouver to move into a hotel for the next several months. Her kidney transplant is scheduled for Monday, August 19th. Let’s all keep her in our thoughts on that day and all

others following for her recovery.

All of the funds raised go directly to Chrissie and will help with travel costs to Vancouver for herself and family, will help pay for accommodations while in Vancouver for over two months, and will also help with monthly bills while Mike takes time off work to care for Chrissie after the transplant. They are going to be out of their home and I’m not sure what kind of mobility she will have right away so having the ability to order grocery deliveries and to also be able to acquire the comforts she needs while healing.

I will be keeping this fundraiser updated after the transplant so we can all keep the good thoughts flowing.
