Chrissie’s Journey- Baby Steps To Comfort, No Cure.

Hey everyone. My name is Chrissie Whitt. I am 35 years old and have been in the battle of my life. I have been diagnosed with a genetic condition called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. With that comes a lot of rare conditions that have no cure. I have been diagnosed with 2 vascular compressions (Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome & Nutcracker Syndrome), Gastroparesis, POTS, MCAS, and severe, ongoing iron deficiency. I currently have a Hickman central line to receive nutrition and hydration due to my gastroparesis. I cannot eat very many solids, and my body does not absorb what is needed to stay functioning on its own.
Almost a year ago, many thought I was going to take my last breath, but I continue to fight. It has not been easy on myself or my family. I have lost my career (which gave me purpose and fueled me) and many other aspects of my life. A normal life has been ripped away from me and my family due to these rare conditions. I am often in the ER, appointments, and different therapies to try and get to a place where I feel more solid and can start getting pieces of my life back.
I am usually the one helping, but I am setting all pride and ego aside to ask for help now. This has been a long process to accept, and easing the financial burden would be helpful so that I can focus on doing what I can to manage and attempt to get back to a somewhat normal day-to-day life. I know it is out of my hands and in the hands of a power greater than myself. Thank you all for your continued prayers, thoughts, and support through this challenging time.
