Will and Chrissie will be completing a 24hr run in Ffynnonau woods, this will be a 5.5mile loop which they will repeat for 24hrs to get as many loops as possible trying to get as close to a 100 mile as possible .We will be to doing this on the 25th of may 2024 to help raise money for two local children who have faced many challenges, as well as SNAP.

Bella, Wills niece has an unsafe swallow with severe Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and as a result of this is tube fed. Bella also has a Learning disability, ADHD and Hip dysplasia which impacts on her mobility. It is believed she has an unknown rare genetic condition and has had extensive investigation and is part of research projects to give an official diagnoses regarding her condition.
SNAP is a charity for children (and families), with additional and complex needs and supporting them regarding their educational. SNAP aims to give children a ‘voice’ and support them to meet their potential.
SNAP enabled Bella to have an education and ensured that she received the care that she needed to thrive. It set her on the right path for her future in education, as well as that they supported us as family through all her appointments and surgeries. We were also lucky enough to make life long friendships with other families we met during Bella’s time at SNAP.

Nila Rose Hale was born on the 22nd of August 2023 to Sam and Leigh at their home in Carmarthen. Nila has two older siblings. Nila experienced a difficult start to life, as following some distress during labour she was born flat, but quickly showed her strength and determination and started breathing, before being transferred to Glangwilli.
Nila spent a period of time in hospital where she was assessed by the Dr’s, and had many different tests and scans at Noah Ark hospital over the following weeks.
In November 2023 Nila underwent a biopsy and had a benign tumor removed. At a follow up Kidney scan, the week before Christmas 2023 a further mass was found which was confirmed to be a Wilms tumor. This came as a shock to Sam and Leigh as Nila presented as healthy and well.
Just after Christmas Nila begun her treatment journey. Nila had a CT scan under sedation and anaesthetic for mri these scans confirmed that nila had a Wilms tumour in both her kidneys .
Nila currently has had 8 weeks if chemotherapy which has helped to shrink the tumour, which is a positive. Nila will undergo massive operation in March to remove one of her kidneys and despite this operation, Nila will be expected to endure a further year of chemotherapy.
Nila has shown great strength and determination throughout all the challenges she has faced, and despite having a long road ahead she is a ray of sunshine!
