Hi, my name is Alice and I am fundraising for a very dear friend, Chris Stanley who has been an employee of North Star Press in the Town of Louisa VA for 15 years.

Requesting not to put her picture on line, I decided to put her place of business where everyone has either been there or has passed by it while strolling through the quaint town itself.

Chris's passion for people, the outdoors, animals, plants and flowers are what she is all about.

A devout Christian and helping non profit organizations kept her busy outside of her job and home life.

Chris was out in her flower bed one day and got nipped by either a spider or possibly a snake. The consequences landed her in the hospital with a terrible blood infection. Trying to fight with medications and blood transfusions, her right pinky toe was amputated in hopes of clearing up the infection. A last minute decision of life or death, her right leg up to her knee had to be amputated in order to hopefully rid the infection in her blood. After a few more blood transfusions, she was released from the hospital with no more infection and into a rehab to start a new way of living. She will need extensive physical therapy for a very long time.

Chris is now staying with a friend until she is strong enough to return to her much needed upgraded handicap home.

She is having to give up her job at North Star, which was her main source of income at the age of 68. She is now dealing with major medical bills, and still has her home expenses to pay.

Please help Chris as she is needing so much now. She lives alone, has no children and none of her family live in VA.

Let's give back to Chris what she has always given to her friends, customers and the community.
