Chris's Stage 3 Cancer Recovery Fund

Everything was going fine. Days were typical. Wake up at 430am, be at work by 6 am, clock out at 6 pm and go home to the family. The highlights were watching my kids play on a newly built fort-type swingset and trade corny jokes with them. At night, life was dinner and maybe watch an episode of The Masked Singer.

Life started to change when I saw blood and mucus in my stools in September 2022. I was hoping that it was a diet issue, or to be honest, maybe a stomach issue. My dad died of Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer in the worst way in early 2021. Fast forward to May of 2023, I was forced to face my unsightly health issue, which I had been ignoring, with a trip to the Emergency Room. The results of a CT Scan showed a large tumor, 8.5cm x 7.5cm x 6.5cm, growing from my sigmoid colon area and resting on top of my bladder, pinching my urethra. This is what had been causing my UTIs once a month since March.

From this day, everything moved fast. I had an appointment within five days with a urologist and gastroenterologist. A colonoscopy and cystoscopy results showed that the tumor hadn't invaded my bladder, but it was Stage 3 Colon Cancer.

It's now July 27th. On August 1st I'll be having Wound Ostomy Surgery for a colostomy bag. Of course the bills have been piling up. The family and I have been able to keep up, but with this surgery and chemotherapy after, its going to be a strain financially. I cant fathom the dollar amount when the surgery to remove the tumor and part of my colon comes up in early 2024.

So I've decided to reach out to the community here and ask for help. The last thing anyone in these situations is to be ruined financially. I know some people are reluctant to help for whatever the reason may be, but for everyone reading this, first, thank you and last, I'd like you to know that I've donated here as well to those in need. Should there be anything left over, I will most likely be donating it to a charity like St.Jude.
