Chris's Memorial Bench on the Camino

Hello dear friends and family of Chris....

On April 28th (Chris's birthday) I'll be heading out on the Camino Primitivo...on a special mission...to place a memorial bench in a place where Chris's fellow "pilgrims" can sit and rest during their long journey to Santiago.

During a previous visit to Spain back in September 2022, I scouted the perfect spot for this memorial bench. It's at a fork in the road that pilgrims reach during their 5th stage of walking along the Camino Primitivo.

Pilgrims have a choice of either taking a high, challenging "Hospitales" route..or continue along a lower (but also challenging) "Pola" route. At spots like this, pilgrims usually need to take some time to check their supplies and their blisters to determine which road they will take...as well as say "hasta luego" to fellow pilgrims who may choose to take the other path. So adding a bench to this spot would provide a space for pilgrims to rest, connect with themselves and others...as well as enjoy a gorgeous view.

The money that is donated to this fundraiser will be used to cover the costs of the (custom-made) bench as well as the transportation costs to get it installed on the Camino. The bench will have a commemorative plaque...and, if there's enough money raised, some custom art or engravings of some of Chris's favorite things (ie. Yoda, Tibetan player flags, etc) I will also find a way to include the names of everyone who makes a donation to the fundraiser.

Together, we will leave a legacy for Chris on the Camino.
