Hello sweet people!!

For those who don’t know, I’m Chris Paseka, an LA-based actor.

7 years ago I got a divorce and lost everything. Said “eff it” I’m going to pursue the acting career I gave up before I got married. I moved to California with crazy debt, no job, no money, no where to live (thank you to my family for the spare room) and no real plan.

4 months in, I booked a really nice pharmaceutical print ad that afforded me the opportunity to move to LA. In that first year and a half, I booked over 2 dozen commercials, got a pretty cool agent and manager, acquired my SAG card and booked my first co-Star.

In February of 2020, I was debt free and put $100 into a savings account for the first time in years….and then covid.

Unfortunately, like many, I lost everything again and struggled a lot. But with the help of the state, govt and very sweet friends and family, I got through. I was very fortunate. Very. And I don’t take that for granted.

I made some fun cooking videos and some silly videos, hopefully made you laugh (you can check them all out on YouTube, pasey13), made cookies and dough and cakes and did whatever I could to survive, and I did.

As restrictions lightened, as did auditions and bookings. Booked 1/2 a dozen more commercials and my first prime-time “network” co-Star, I was sooo excited!!

Some personal bumps in the road had me have to take a break for a few months and when I was able to dive back in…we (SAG/Aftra) went on strike.

In the year and a half since the strike started, there has been no acting work. Some of my older projects have re-upped their contracts or are still running, but very few prospects.

I’m not unlike 1000s of people going through it in this industry. It’s very hard right now.

Why do I continue to sacrifice and stay?

I’ve never felt more alive and more purposed-driven than when I am on set working with creative people. It fills me with intense joy and a euphoria I cannot explain.

Why Go Fund Me??

Well, they say, “create your own work”, so I am!!

I have a team of amazing actors and filmmakers volunteering to put together a fun short film I wrote.

This is where you come in, I want to pay them for their efforts. I want creatives to be able to create and be valued for their talents. I want people to know that their gifts are valid.

Unfortunately, I’m not in the financial situation to give them more than gas money.

What will the money be used for?

Anything raised will take care of lunch and props, equipment needed, services required and the rest will be split between the cast and crew. Anything additional that comes in above and beyond will be used to enter this film into festivals. We have an AWARD-WINNING director who is volunteering his time as well that will help guide this whole project, thank you James Kautz!
