Chris’s courageous challenge

”Do small things with Great love”, meaningful life advice from Mother Theresa. It is my hope that individually we can each do something small that collectively will have a huge impact on a very dear friend for over twenty years and a sister of my heart, Christine Dolan.

On December 18th Chris was taken to Baystate Hospital in Springfield and was told she had a massive tumor in her uterus that had to be removed because it was strangling three of her organs. An emergency hysterectomy was performed and the tumor removed. She was discharged home three days later only to be taken back to a local emergency room for pain and possible infection just two days after discharge.

Chris was transferred to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Chris had to endure another operation for two abdominal abscess’s and a perforated intestine. Chris was left with a devastating diagnosis that her body has to heal from which will take six months to a year. When she is completely healed she will have to endure yet another surgery to repair the colon. Chris became anemic and had to have several transfusions. On the good side, the tumor is benign! When Chris is ready for discharge from the hospital, she will go to a rehab facility for a week or two until she is strong enough to go home alone.

This week has proven to be a tremendous physical and emotional strain on Chris. Some of you may already know that Chris is a self employed personal chef with her own business, (Baddass Brands). She will be unable to work for several months as her body adjusts and heals. I am hoping to have her family and friends come together and donate what you can to help ease the financial burden and ease her mind so she can focus all her strength on her recovery.
