Chris's Cochlear Implant Surgery

Donation protected
In 2010, I lost most of my hearing due to a viral infection. At the time hearing aids were a viable solution for my hearing loss. However, as time has gone on, my hearing has degraded to the point that hearing aids will have very little positive impact.  I now have no word comprehension in my right ear and about 12% in my left ear. It has been recommended by my ENT that I have cochlear implants placed on both sides. After surgery and rehab, my Dr is optimistic that I can have word comprehension of 70-80% in each ear or higher. I literally will be able to hear things I haven't heard in a decade. So the surgery is scheduled for March 10th. I have been able to come up with the majority of my out of pocket expenses on my own through my Health FSA and a loan against my 401K, however, I am still about $1700 short. I set my goal for $2500 to cover any unforeseen expenses. But please note that any funds donated over and above what are needed will be donated to the Starkey Hearing Foundation. This charity provides hearing aids to low-income families around the world. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to look at this and my family and I thank you in advance for any donation you may be able to give. I also understand that you may not have any extra money to spare. If that is the case, all I ask for is your prayers for a successful procedure. Thank you again for taking the time and God Bless you all.
