Hey everyone.
My brother Chris was in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 3rd. He was riding with a friend just past Multnomah Falls on the Old Scenic Highway, when the person in front of him stopped abruptly. Chris locked up his breaks and lost control of his bike.
Fortunately, he was only going 20-25mph. However, the force of the bike slammed him down on his ribs extremely hard, and he bounced and slid for another 20 feet. He broke 3 ribs and punctured his right lung, which collapsed 80%. He had to have a chest tube inserted to help inflate his lung and he spent over a week in the hospital.
We're greateful that it wasn't worse than it was. Chris is on a long, painful road to recovery, but he should recover completely. His pride may suffer a bit, but I'm ok with that.
Personally, I've been against him riding from the begining, which I made very clear to him when he started. And normally, I would take the opportuity to tell him, "I told you so." But, he's already been very humbled by the accident. I hope you will join me in humbling him a little more, by helping to pay for some of his medical expenses.
At the risk of embarassing Chris, I'm aware of their financial situation, and while they're are extremely blessed in life, they don't have any extra money. They basically live month to month.
All in all , this accident is going to cost them in excess of $13,000 out-of-pocket. I'm asking that you join me in supporting my brother and sister by helping me pay for what we can. I set a goal of half of what the bill is looking to be.
Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and support. Chris and Whitney are very grateful, and have been extremely blessed by family and friends.
P.S. Chris has no plans of getting back on his bike. Finally, a smart decision.
God bless!
