Christopher Pigg Liver Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Chris Pigg, has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. He hadn't been feeling well for a while, so he went to the Memorial Hermann Emergency Clinic on April 22, 2016. He was admitted for a possible gall bladder issuse. Many tests later, we were informed he has some liver problems. After undergoing a biopsy, we were told on April 26th that the cancer was terminal, and released from the hospital on the same day. We scheduled an oncologist appointment for the following day. After the oncologist appointment, we sat down as a family to discuss the options that were given to us and decided that unless there was a "cure", we would honor Chris' wishes and agree that no chemo/radiation would be done. That morning at three (April 28th), Chris awoke with shortness of breath and we went to Emergency Room again -they rushed him to ICU where he had a heart attack. The cardiologist was in shock that we did not know he had a weak heart. Having the heart attack along with liver cancer, changed everything.
We have just started Hospice care.
Chris has not been able to work since this all began. Chris' son, Matthew, is quitting his job and moving back from Colorado to care for his father - he said he would not have it any other way! We are currently closing down his house and will move around the corner to his sister in law's house (she just lost her husband, Chris' best friend to pancreatic cancer in July 2015).
We have been told that many of you are asking what can you do to help Chris and his family, and if you would like, please make a donation to help the family with all expenses in taking care of Chris in this time of need.
Please feel free to leave him messages (we will read to him everyday) and please keep him in your prayers.
We greatly appreciate all your prayers, thoughts and concerns during this difficult time.
