Please help Chris & Alex after his Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hey! I'm starting this go fund me to support Chris and Alex. Chris will miss 3-4 weeks of work during his recovery post-brain surgery, as well the accrued medical costs from his surgery. Please help us cover them in blessings during this time! We love Chris, Alex and their babies to the moon and back!
This is Alex's story from her post on the night before Wednesday's surgery:
"17 days of feeling all the emotions, but mostly what feels like literal heartbreak.
When the 37 year old love of your life tells you they found a brain tumor on his MRI, you have to remind yourself to breathe every time the thought crosses your mind.
Thankfully, we have received more positives than negatives..
The positives -
1. The glioma is low grade & typically considered benign.. we will know all the details once pathology results come back after surgery.
2. The tumor is on an area of his brain that should NOT have a surgical risk of affecting his speech, memory, or mood, it is also on the non-dominant side of his brain, meaning they are able to take more if needed..
3. Our GOD is in control of EVERYTHING & I am very certain our life together is just beginning.
I am so very thankful for first health and UNC health care for being very prompt during this process. From the time the tumor was found, to sitting with a neurosurgeon in Pinehurst, being referred to a neurosurgeon at UNC Chapel Hill, & sitting face to face with the neurosurgeon planning a date for surgery, it took a total of 5 business days.
Surgery is tomorrow morning & as much as I’ve hesitated making this post, I know what the power of prayer can do, & we need ALL the prayer warriors sending their prayers up .
Please pray specifically for the slow & steady hands of the surgeon & that he has a restful nights sleep tonight, that he is able to remove ALL of the tumor, that surgery goes smoothly with no complications, for a peaceful & easy recovery, for the nerves of all our friends and family while he is in surgery, that the pathology reports come back negative, & for our kids who adore their dad more than anything in this world.
