On the 14th April 2018 I dislocated my neck in three places after a tragic incident playing football. After six hours of surgery, I was in intensive care for eight days recovering from the operation and trying to regulate my breathing. The doctors have told me that I may never walk again. Whilst this came as devastating news, the support that I’ve had from my family, friends and the footballing community has helped turn tears of misery into joy when I needed it the most. Mentally I’m doing well and are prepared for whatever the future holds. Currently I am on the waiting list for a specialist spinal rehabilitation centre, the Paralympians use their sporting facilities so naturally I’m going to be gunning for a gold medal in 2024. Thank you to everyone who has sent me a message or come to see me, you’ve really helped keep my spirits high. I’ll keep up the good fight!! #CK2024
