Help Chris Get Back On His Feet
Donation protected
On a crisp fall afternoon on October 28th, Chris was informed he no longer had a job. Just like that, this officer of 13 years--who had won multiple awards & recognition in his career-- was handed a pink slip during his probationary period (1 week shy of completing his 1 yr.), and told he was unemployed. A stellar evaluation report and no prior warnings, notifications or reprimands to prepare him for this.... Many emotions ....
Saddened – Chris was no longer employed at a job he loved for 13 years. Like many police officers out there, who are busting their butts, risking their lives for the citizens, proudly serving & protecting – they sometimes find themselves in need of protection and sadly from their own. The egos of particular senior officials, who make bad decisions - that affect and destroy the lives of the people who work under them, are a real threat. While Chris’s first thoughts were & continues to be caring for his children, his house, his family – for some officials such thoughts do not make a shred of difference to them, especially as they remain in their cushy jobs.
Fear – Perhaps you have been through something similar – perhaps you can relate to how this moment can paralyze, the fear of trying to figure out the next steps, to make ends meet. Chris has had to deal with many financial burdens as he looked for attorneys, as he tries to maintain his mortgages, as he tries to close out debts, and most importantly as he tries to provide for his family.
Hope - This can happen to anyone of us, sometimes we may not know when/ how our need will manifest but when it does the hope is that family, colleagues, neighbors, or sometimes even a complete stranger can offer an encouraging word. Chris is very grateful for those who have helped him cope and move forward through this difficult time. He remains hopeful that his skills will soon open up a job opportunity for him.
Please consider supporting Chris… he has made great advancements in seeking employment, but could use your prayers & support in getting steadily back on his feet. Thank you.
