Chris Brodersen was riding his dirt bike and was involved in a serious accident where he suffered a spinal injury. He was taken to the trauma center in Redding via Life Flight, and flown again to U. C. Davis Medical Center where he was immediately rushed to surgery. During the accident the T9 & T10 vertebrae became separated and compressed his spinal cord. The doctors had to fuse the vertebrae and hold his spine in place with 2 titanium rods and 12 screws. He currently does not have any feeling in his lower body and will require lengthy rehabilitation and therapy to gain full mobility. That being said, we remain hopeful for a full recovery.
Chris is a veteran from the United States Army and served a 9 month tour in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He finished his 4 year enlistment 6 months ago and has been researching various colleges in order to go back to school and earn his degree. We are looking at all options to pay for the medical bills and future rehabilitation expenses.
